Symptoms of nail biting may range from nibbling at the nails or chewing them down to the cuticle to biting or picking the skin around them. This habit can erode the self-esteem in some clients, leaving them with a sense of lack of self-control and confidence. Such feelings then cause further stress and can even aggravate the habit.
