#    What is Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)?
Neuro linguistic programming is the study of behavioural processes in order to elicit strategies for behavioural modelling, to achieve change and success. It’s the scientific study of how we think, how we organise our mind, our memories, how we perceive the world internally and how we make decisions about what we believe or not, whether that belief empowers us or not. It’s been described as the technology of the mind, the science of achievement and the study of success.

NLP is also a study of communication – how we communicate with ourselves internally and with others and how we choose to interpret that communication and respond to it. Our thoughts create our reactions and feelings. Often our thoughts are not positive or effective in producing healthy feelings or behaviours. NLP gives us the insight into how our thinking is unproductive and how to change those strategies to produce a more beneficial effect on ourselves and others.

NLP is a methodology producing insights and skills with which we can actively use our mind to create the life and successes we desire. It is a simple yet powerful approach to personal and professional development. It is based on the study of successful human performance.

NLP is now globally recognised as a most effective tool for human change, achievement and success in every context – be it personal, business, sport, relationships or behaviour. It is one of the fastest growing and popular pragmatic tools for creating results and achieving success.

 #  How does it work & how can NLP help me?
Our thoughts, or peception about something, creates our emotional responses. If we can change our perception about a situation, a memory or person, we can change our feelings and our behaviours. NLP is a powerful avenue for changing the way in which we perceive the world, by changing the way we “think” about certain things. NLP helps us understand ourselves and others, elicit inefficient strategies and communications and change them so that we achieve a more productive and successful life for ourselves.

In therapy NLP allows dramatic changes to take place rapidly. Phobias can be overcome very quickly and lastingly. Situations or memories that previously triggered unresourceful feelings can be changed to trigger positive feelings. As all behaviour is a strategy, as well as being unconscious, we can model new behaviours, such as confidence, with NLP. It is an immensely effective and enjoyable way to access the potential of our mind.

NLP is a profound tool for personal change, which is rapid and fun to work with. When we learn to master our own thoughts, we empower ourselves. It grew originally out of the study of innovative and effective therapy. Here is a brief summary of how NLP is helpful in various areas:

#   What is Timeline Therapy?
Your “time line” is the way in which your unconscious mind stores your memories, in an orderly, timely fashion. All behaviour is unconscious and Timeline Therapy, a form of regression, allows you to access unconscious memories for the purposes of resolving emotional issues and thus changing undesired behaviours or releasing negative emotions from the past.

Timeline Therapy is a gently effective and speedy way of working with emotional issues and creating change within oneself.

#   What does it feel like?
If is very similar to the hypnotic state and clients experience a relaxed and often detached sensation.

#   How does it work & what are the benefits?
As all behaviour is unconscious, the most effective way to work with memories associated with negative or unproductive behaviours and emotions is to do so unconsciously. Timeline therapy fits this criteria, as does hypnotherapy. By revisiting memories unconsciously in a detached way, the unconscious mind can re-evaluate those memories, thus changing your perception, your emotions to that memory and your behaviours.

Timeline therapy is a quick and effective way of working with clients to get to the cause of emotional and behavioural issues.
