Online Therapy - UK, Europe, Worldwide
Most of Angela's clients work online with her these days, although she's also available face-to-face in East Sussex. Why has online counselling and psychotherapy increased? Even before Covid and lockdowns, there was a considerable number of people seeking help from remote places in the UK and internationally, so Angela is very comfortable working online and will put you at ease too.
Why choose online therapy?
There are many reasons you might wish to consider working online or even prefer to do so: our busy lives dictate time management for us, where travel can interrupt our activities, cost us more or be too far to consider and too complicated a journey. There may be childcare issues, care for the elderly or schooling and homework to consider for teenage clients. Teenagers, Angela found, much prefer working online, as that's the "norm" for them and saves them time to do homework and revision.
You may have a full-time job and attending therapy online allows for less stress for you or perhaps online therapy provides you with no geographical limitations where choosing the best therapist for you matters. With the right technology, sessions online work very well indeed, even EMDR therapy sessions can be conducted online as Angela uses a specialist platform to do so.
It's often good to have a recommendation when looking for a psychotherapist or counsellor and working online ensures you have access to anyone recommended to you, despite the geography. Since there are no geographical boundaries, finding a qualified, insured, experienced psychotherapist or counsellor is much easier.
Online appointments are conducted in the same way as face-to-face appointments - they are confidential and professional. Angela's own computer is secure and the platforms she uses are also secure (Zoom, Skype, MS Teams or WhatsApp video).
Which conditions or treatments can't Angela work with online?
Hypnotherapy is a treatment tool which is best used in a face-to-face appointment and Angela doesn't use hypnotherapy via online platforms. However, Angela does provide hypnotherapy recordings for use at home, when you are in a relaxed downtime period. All other psychotherapy treatments are available during online appointments including EMDR.
Is it best to have an in-person appointment instead of online?
That really depends on the individual. Some clients have been hesitant to attend therapy sessions online, only to find they were easy, relaxed and the client forgot they were online with Angela during the session, just like you might forget the chair you're sitting on as you read this. Some clients book for face-to-face appointments then switch to online due to the ease of not having to travel, even small distances. It may be that you wish to have an initial appointment face-to-face, and then continue online, or vice-versa.
How are appointments booked?
You may wish to speak with her via phone for 10 minutes to get an idea of whether Angela can help you or perhaps email her in the first instance. The initial appointment is booked directly with Angela. After that session Angela will provide you with access to her booking system/diary where you can book your own appointments. Angela provides plenty of written detail to answer any question you might have upon booking your appointments, which include the terms and conditions of working together and the process involved.
