Bereavement, Loss & Heartbreak
Losing someone we love leaves a deep pain within us. Bereaved clients may ask Angela "When will I get over the death of my loved one?" The answer to that question is you will probably never "get over" losing someone you love to death but you will learn to live with your loss.
Bereavement also happens to us when we've lost a loved one through divorce or separation, when we've lost a pregnancy, stillbirth or miscarried. Sometimes we grieve a career loss, our health, our youth, lost opportunities or a loved pet. We can also start grieving when we know we're going to lose someone - either through illness or because they are elderly. Grieving is a natural but painful part of life. Grieving itself is healthy and allows us to reconcile our feelings of sadness, loss, anger, emptiness, regret, confusion as well as joy and love for the person. Sometimes we cannot grieve, for varying reasons, or our grief seems to be overwhelming us, even after years. This can lead to depression. Counselling with Angela can help the grieving process.
